  The California Bar has a Cerakote finish that gives it an unrivalled look, feel and performance in today's fitness industry. The bar shaft is made from precision-ground alloy steel and its strength is tested with every shipment of raw material to ensure a consistent tensile strength of 190,000 PSI. This attention to detail also delivers excellent long-term performance and great flexibility in our bars.

  The bar sleeves are precision machined and each one is coated with hard chrome to protect them against drops and impacts. The sleeves rotate around high-strength composite bushings used in the aerospace and automotive industries for smooth rotation.

  After many years of producing some of the finest Olympic barbells in the world, American Barbell is proud to introduce its latest innovation: Cerakote-finished bars. No other product rivals the corrosion and abrasion resistance of this finish. Cerakote is used by leading firearms manufacturers around the world in some of the most aggressive and corrosive environments. Salt spray corrosion testing has shown that this coating lasts up to 70 times longer than chrome and even stainless steel.
