More than barbells

American Barbell began manufacturing gym equipment in 1978, and our
manufacturing and quality standards have been evident from day one.
Our roots began as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)
for the most important names in the global fitness industry. Over the last
40 years, we have paved the way, creating the most
notable innovations and industry firsts. Our list of achievements includes
the creation of the first hard chrome Olympic barbell (1998), the first
urethane bumper plate (2012), the first Cerakote Olympic barbell (2016),
high-strength, lightweight aluminum cable attachments, custom-molded
urethane weights and our industry-leading urethane dumbbells
Series-1 with patented Spline technology, to name a few.
Our vast experience and precision engineering are reflected in the quality
of our products, and that is why we are the exclusive supplier to the largest
commercial gym chains in the industry. Our
